Project overview
During my Google UX Design course, we were given random prompts using the website sharpen.design, which it was needed to design an app that would be our project for the course. My randomly generated prompt was “Design a booking app for a beer-garden”. This is my case study on the design project.
The problem
A beer-garden needed a booking app, where clients could reserve their table, in an easy and convenient way.
The goal
Designing a clean looking app, where people could easily reserve a table, without having to phone or send emails and messages.
Understanding the user
The user research methodology was Usability studies, competitor audits and interviews. I focused on building the research to respond to the problem and pain points the users could have while reserving a table at their favourite pub, bar or club.
Pain points
Users needed an app that they could easily use to reserve a table at the beer-garden, without having to phone or email the place in question.
A staff member would need to stay at the phone or computer to answers calls and emails or messages to reserve clients tables.
Personas
Problem statement: James is a Marketing strategist, calm person who needs a user friendly app to reserve a table because he needs a laid back place to drink beer and chat with his friends.”
